Woe of the Toe

So the broken toe is doing better. Let me give ya all some advise if you must break a toe do a little one. Don't mess with the big guy, it so isn't worth it. Since the Toe doesn't let me move around much I am still kinda boping around home and work. I hope by the beginning of March to start exploring more of my new home town. Work is doing great. I still like it, but I miss the people back in Chi Town a lot. Well off to the ride home...I love it 20 min with traffic. :-)

Millenials Impact Bridal Jewelry Market

Millenials, those children of the baby boomers, who are now either in college or graduating and getting married, are expected to impact diamond jewelry sales. In particular, the sale of bridal jewelry is expected to grow as this generation is far more traditional than their parents, who are synonymous with the wild '60s. The values of the millenial are said to coincide with marriage and the desire to become stable financially.

What Trends Can We Expect?

For one, millenials are children of the information age. You can expect they won't be satisfied to visit only retail stores, growing up as they did on the power of the computer and the Internet. Internet sales should benefit from this electronically savvy consumer. But, that's not the only thing that will impact the sale of diamond jewelry.

This group, while more traditional, wants to put its own unique stamp of things. So, while we will continue to see diamond solitaires showing up as diamond engagement rings, it's very likely many of them will be customized to the couple's tastes.

Finally, this generation understands value unlike the Gen X or baby boomers. They want things that last and they have more money to pay for them. So, they are flocking to the sale of platinum as they understand the intrinsic value of this metal that is three times more valuable than gold.

Millenials are expected to make more and more changes as they start to graduate, enter the workforce, and get married. As the baby boomers retire, this new demographic will begin to have more and more influence on the consumer marketplace
