News, News, News
Okay it is time to share a little part of my news, because I am looking to see if anyone in the blogosphere can send me information and has any tips for me. I have decided that I am done with Florida, I admit I can't stand the weather but I also think it is a time for a change. In spring of next year(May,June) I plan on moving to Ohio. My company has a site there so job transfer will be easy,(I hope). Now you may ask yourself why is she posting this so early, to answer I need help and advice, I have never moved such a far distance by myself unlike others(just teasing) no one is paying for my move I have not ever started fresh like this before so since I am a planner I am starting early. So drop a line, I will take advice and will keep you updated.

Start getting rid of stuff now. You won't realize how much stuff you have until you start packing. Between college and the Army, I can't count the number of times that I have moved. The trick is to not own a lot of stuff. Once you move a few times, you will not want to own anything and then moving is easy.

OHIO? What the hell is in Ohio? (No disrespect if you are from there peeps) Great another great friend lost. *sniff-sniff* Meli you need to plan for moves in advance. Start scopping out the area and housing. Where is your new place of employment going to be located at and is it in a good area and how far or close do you want to be to it?

Feel free to e-mail me - I lived in South Florida for 4 years and last June moved across the country to San Francisco! I'd be happy to chat with you about the move and Florida and everything.

Hi,
I've never moved that far away from family and friends, but I have moved into new cities twice in my life. What an exciting thing to do! It was great, but it was also difficult. Moving to a new city is one of the most stressful things you can do. I think it's important to have support while you get yourself settled in, so maybe if you could develop some strategies to connect with others you'd be less likely to fall into depression and/or loneliness.
Good luck! I hope all goes well!

I've done the solo distance move several times now and my one bit of advice is to give the new place time to grow on you; it will take a lot of adjustment, especially if you're moving from Florida to Ohio (I moved from California to Ohio and am still adjusting after 4 years). Best of luck to you. Be well.

Well, if it is of any help, my flatmate just moved all the way from Florida to Minnesota about a month ago and she loves it! A month before that I moved from Europe over to Minnesota, so I just want to wish you all the luck in the world with this big step you are considering! I love the fact I took the 'gutsy move' and broke with the old way of life which was a drag. If you ever want to bounce thoughts of someone who has just done what you are now pondering, feel free to drop me a line.

I'm in Cincinnati, so I'd be glad to give you any tips or find info that you may need. What part of Ohio will you be moving to?

I will be moving to Cleveland, actually just a little outside of the city, in Mayfield.
