Election Results
Well the votes are in and the president stays put. I am okay and happy with that result, however I do feel that this election shows us why the electoral college needs to be either abolished or completely overhauled. When there is such a huge division in the popular vote but the electoral votes are so close dosen't that say something, that our votes though important only help our canadate when our state. Here in florida that matters we have enough electoral votes to make a difference but in a state like Alaska where it is only three what incentive does that give people to go our at vote. I don't know I will say that I am sick of close elections I wish that we could find away to make our voting just a little better.

agreed - thats a big grumble in Canada as well. The electoral voting system is no longer needed.

although we don't know the final tally of electoral votes. It appears that it will exactly match, percentage wise, the popular vote. The system worked this time, although not to happy about the results.

it doesn't make sense to me too... you tally popular votes and Bush wins hands down.
then you tally electoral college votes, BY STATE WON, even if some seats were won by the other party.
illogical to me..

Had we not had the electoral college in 2000, George Bush would not even had been on the ballot this time. We would have been voting to reelect President Gore.
